Earlier today, a fire alarm went off at CATS Academy and PACE Academy. Students and staff were immediately evacuated. There was no fire. The alarm was triggered by a surge of energy to the alarm that caused it to malfunction.
The Angleton Fire Department and Angleton ISD Maintenance Department responded to the alarm. The fire department has checked the building to make sure it is safe, and students and staff have returned to school as normal. The alarm has been reset and is now working correctly.
